I was going to do this on Saturday, but I'm so anticipating this that I just had to announce it now.

If you had come across me between 1/3/09 and 1/8/09, you'd've noticed four comic-style deviations at the forefront of my gallery, all titled “Teh Love Cookie”.
Just after this journal is posted, those deviations will no longer exist.
Don't worry, you won't have missed anything majorly important. The only reason I bring those just-deleted deviations up is that they form the basis – the prototype, if you will – for a little DeviantArt project that I'm going to be working on for the next year or more, Men are from Mars, Women are from Wherever. Slightly similar to 's AGENCY comic, albeit on a slightly smaller scale, this comic will focus around a few characters who have become especially close to my heart as of late.

Here is a precis of the plot at the heart of the project. Three citizens live in the same flat – Band Geek, Marvin and Commander (yes, 's Commander). The human seeks to avoid strife and get lots of money; the Martian seeks to avoid discovery and dissection; the humanoid just wants the alien. But when a mysterious “love cookie” machine serves as a plot device to get Commander up the duff by said alien, all three are guaranteed to get much more than they bargained for.

This comic will not necessarily be the best drawn in the world. And sure, the plot uses any number of cliches. But I'm not really aiming for that. Progression in drawing and writing style is a good thing, and if it happens, OK good, but that isn't my main goal. All I really want to do is make people laugh, cry and feel for the characters used here. This is going to be a labor of love for me, and as I go through the trials and tribulations of a humanoid getting preggers by a Martian, the least that I ask for is that it elicits a smile.
